Alpha Duo Mk II:
VCA/Overdrive/Ring Mod

Like the original, Alpha Duo Mk II is a stereo VCA with a warm, valve emulation overdrive as well as a harder, clipping style overdrive. Flip the response switch to 4 quadrant, and Alpha Duo MK II becomes a ring modulator. In 4S mode, each of the two stereo channels acts independently with separate CVs.

New features in Alpha Duo MK II include a CV input for overdrive level, and a handy 6dB input boost, which can help if you have a low input level – from a heavily filtered oscillator, for instance – or if you just want some more oomph into the overdrive.
